Pauatahanui Inlet
The Pauatahanui Inlet is an amazing place for birds, there are so many different birds here at low tide! In the space of about half an hour last night I sighted fifteen different species of birds feeding at low tide.
Unfortunately it is not always possible to get up close to the birds, but I have certainly tried. I love watching the Caspian Terns with their impressive wingspan and bright orange beaks, the Pied Oyster Catchers as they fly in together. The Canada Geese as they fly about in formation, the Black Swans and their graceful necks. It is Nature at its best and I love it.
