Staying at Hotel Camp!

As a child growing up I have fond memories of staying with relatives at Ngahinapouri in the Waikato with the view of Mt Pirongia in the distance.  My aunt and uncle still live there and just down the road a bit is Hotel Camp - otherwise known as my cousin Karen's place.  Hotel Camp is a palace compared to our little house and with the mountain views out the back and the cows grazing out the front.

Karen seemed certain that I would LOVE to photograph their cows as they walked past on the way to the milking shed with the sun rising in the background. I resisted - partly due to the fact that I have seen cows before. I worked on a dairy farm for many years, so seeing cows walking off to the shed just makes me feel pleased that it's not me doing the milking!

However because I am such a good guest (didn't do the dishes once but I did cook!) I decided to take a couple of photos of their cows for them.  So Karen this post is entirely for you - enjoy!
